Who We Are

Susan Hall is the founder and principal of Susan Hall Studio, which she launched in Boulder, CO, in 2012.

Hall began her design journey through the study of art, graphic design and photography. Being a first generation American, Susan’s European sensibility informs and enhances her projects. She has worked for art museums and has lived in great cities, such as New York City (twice), London, Miami and Los Angeles — all which have influenced her eye and educated her in the scope of art, design and architecture.

Hall calls Boulder’s Shanahan Ridge home and lives in a 1975 renovated Mid-century house she renovated herself and where she finally has a painting studio to call her own. Over these years, Susan has served clients in the capacity of lead designer on small to large-scale projects. She values and deeply loves this work where she works hand in hand with clients, architects, builders and firms to create new and renovated houses. A life-long dream come true.

Her talented staff consists of Cristin Hanson, who manages projects for SHS. Cristin has a background in buying and merchandising for apparel and home goods stores. She and her husband Erik moved to Boulder in 2021 after years of bouncing between New York and California. They have two young boys and a hound dog named Winnie. (Seen on right.)

Anna Pilipuf is a 3D rendering and drawing specialist who graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a certificate in studio art. Her special interest in passive design strategies practiced by ancient civilizations inspired her to pursue a second Bachelor of Arts in interior design with an emphasis on sustainable design at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. She lives in Boulder with her partner Romeo and their adorable dogs.
